Over the past few months, we've been diligently working on cleaning up the category tree of old and unused categories.  While most of this will go unnoticed by the community, what you will notice is the change from "Miscellaneous" galleries to "Other".  The reason for this change is simple.  The concept of Miscellaneous leads one to believe that it's a junk drawer category for everything under the sun when the intention was to be an "Other" category for deviations that don't fit well in other sub-categories of the tree.  We're also working on u

December 2012 Traditional UpdatesTraditionalists
#Traditionalists is a new group aimed at giving the traditional art community their own unique voice by giving the traditionalists a place to gather, organize, and inform others with the help and guidance of the traditional Community Volunteer team. The idea behind this project was to open the channels of communication between the traditional community and the traditional CVs so that we can all work together and develop a main hub for all things traditional.  If you haven't joined this group yet, we'd like to encourage you to do so.

A while back it was announced that the gallery descriptions would be getting an overhaul on dA and very soon we will be taking a closer look at the descriptions for the traditional art galleries.  This is where we could use your input to help us shape the new descriptions to help make them more clear and concise.  If there are any traditional categories descriptions which you feel you have some suggestions for we'd love to hear them.

Welcome to Daily Deviations PE WeekWelcome to Daily Deviations week!

This week I spied an awesome topic in *Fuzzypiggy's journal and knew instantly that it was what I would talk about for edition twenty eight. "Underground train system bosses are set to ban all photos under new proposals that have angered photographers.." This week the general thoughts come from =Eitvys200 who brought up the topic of Too many cameras around?! It's one that baffles many from amateur to professional in deciding what we, as artists, want to use as our tools.
