A while back it was announced that the gallery descriptions would be getting an overhaul on dA and very soon we will be taking a closer look at the descriptions for the traditional art galleries. This is where we could use your input to help us shape the new descriptions to help make them more clear and concise. If there are any traditional categories descriptions which you feel you have some suggestions for we'd love to hear them.

Hello fellow deviants! My name is April Schumacher, and I'm a traditional artist working as a freelance illustrator. Though I grew up in the state of Iowa, I moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota to attend the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) to major in illustration, and graduated in May of 2008. I'm still in Minneapolis, alive and kicking.

Over the past few months, we've been diligently working on cleaning up the category tree of old and unused categories. While most of this will go unnoticed by the community, what you will notice is the change from "Miscellaneous" galleries to "Other". The reason for this change is simple. The concept of Miscellaneous leads one to believe that it's a junk drawer category for everything under the sun when the intention was to be an "Other" category for deviations that don't fit well in other sub-categories of the tree. #Traditionalists is a new group aimed at giving the traditional art community their own unique voice by giving the traditionalists a place to gather, organize, and inform others with the help and guidance of the traditional Community Volunteer team.
