Hello all,
some of you may already be aware that a group of us CVs have gotten together and are planing a Daily Deviation #projecteducate week in mid August. The thought was that there is often so much negativity surrounding DDs and we'd like to help educate the community as best as we can to help settle some of the hurt feelings etc. This is where we need your input!
Have your voice heard
This is your chance to have your voice heard. We want to know what it is that you want us to talk about during DD PE week. What do you want to know in regards to DDs? What do you feel the community will benefit from knowing about? Any and all input is welcome, the more the merrier!
In conclusion
Your feedback will help shape DD PE week as we will take into consideration all comments left for us and do our best to address your questions/problems/concerns, or anything else you may bring up to us in articles or other means during that week.

What I love about DD's:
When I find something unique and special I can note the CV for that specific area.
Each day there is a new selection of artwork that the CV's and/or a CV and suggester have come together to showcase.
Reading the positive comments that other deviants leave for the artist.
6 month rule
What I dislike about DD's:
Negative comments on DD's. Deviants can and will be negative to another deviants DD, in reality I would like to say "Rude and Uncalled For"
I have noticed some comments in the past regarding DD suggesters having the same 6 month rule that an artist has for a DD. I don't agree with a 6 month rule for DD Suggesters. I love suggesting DD's and I think it's important for the community to understand that an active DD Suggester takes time out of their "Free Time" to suggest DD's.
What I would like to learn regarding DD's:
When I see a Cosplay or Model receive a DD, I'm a little confused because they did not take the photograph. I understand the deviant (Cosplay or Model) is in the photograph posing. However, to my understanding a DD is awarded based on all the elements of the photograph. I hope I am making sense
I'm really looking forward to this weeks PE discussions and I'm wondering if you are planning a chat event for DD week??
Thank you for your time,
Jo
*Things I like about DDs (+) added thoughts]
1) I agree strongly with the 6 month suggested time limit on the SAME deviant receiving another DD... I honestly would like the same suggested limitation to be applied to suggesters for DDs]
2) I appreciate that there is a wide variety of categories being selected... I would actually like to see more [especially categories without a volunteer overseeing it.]
3) I like the idea of self suggestion and really hate the stigma placed on those who do such things... Not everyone has a 1000 online friends, much less friends/groups who suggest constantly for you...
*Things I would like to see changed with DDs
1) I would like to see a easy button [Suggest as DD] applied to ALL deviations [underneath (Add to Favorite) option] that sends a notice to the proper volunteer for the gallery [staff for non represented categories] instead of the current method [that requires you to find the proper gallery volunteer to submit it]
*Concerning how others act with DDs
I wish people were nicer to those who receive a DD/s, They did not select themselves and deserve their moment in the sun... I also think the volunteers selection should be respected [at the very least publicly] send a note or something instead of slamming either the artist selected or the volunteer/staff who promoted it.
I think the biggest confusion is that one piece from the stamp gallery will take a DD away from a piece in the traditional gallery. Or whatever the combination. "OMG, I can't believe this got a DD where there are so many other pieces out there worthy of it." Many don't realize that DDs are featured by the CV of that gallery, and that CV does NOT have the ability to cross-galleries. As an emoticonist, people used to continually complain that emotes are not a valid artform and that a piece of more traditional digital art should be there, instead. But it doesn't work that way.
Also, I think there should be a section covering the fact that some artists are NOT happy when their piece is given a DD. Again, just like an artist is not responsible for their piece being showcased, it also doesn't mean they are over-the-moon about it, either.
